Abstract

 

The continuing professional development of school principals and instructional supervisors constitutes a fundamental element for strengthening pedagogical leadership and improving educational processes. In this context, the municipality of Timbiras (MA), Brazil, has developed the Seminar on Successful Practices as a formative strategy aimed at the socialization, analysis, and reflection on successful pedagogical experiences presented to professionals who are part of school management teams. This article aims to report and analyze the experience of the Seminar on Successful Practices as an initiative for the continuing education of principals and supervisors within the municipal education system. This is an experience report of a qualitative and descriptive-reflective nature, grounded in participant observation and in the analysis of the formative contributions of the event. The findings indicate that the seminar constitutes a space for collective learning, strengthening pedagogical leadership, and expanding the repertoire of monitoring and pedagogical intervention practices. It is concluded that the initiative significantly contributes to the professional development of principals and supervisors by recognizing practice as a source of knowledge and by promoting the articulation between theory and practice within the context of school management.
