ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND EDUCATIONAL TOURISM IN THE REGION OF CHAPADA DIAMANTINA – BA

EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL Y TURISMO EDUCATIVO EN LA REGIÓN DE LA CHAPADA DIAMANTINA – BA

O presente estudo apresenta o grande potencial turístico das paisagens naturais dos municípios de Lençóis, Iraquara e Mucugê, resultantes da biodiversidade e geodiversidade local. Essa diversidade possibilita a realização de aulas de campo, uma vez que é possível verificar várias formações geológicas e geomorfológicas que testemunham diferentes eventos geológicos, como também a presença da transição dos biomas Caatinga, Cerrado e Mata Atlântica, evidenciando o potencial pedagógico existente nessa área. Diante disso, objetivou-se descrever o grande potencial turístico e pedagógico de algumas paisagens presentes nos municípios supracitados e sua relação com a educação ambiental. O método científico utilizado para a referida pesquisa foi o exploratório, seguindo os seguintes procedimentos metodológicos: levantamento bibliográfico dos aspectos físicos, econômicos e sociais; trabalho de campo e discussão dos resultados. É notável o crescimento do turismo nessa região, propiciado pelos inúmeros elementos naturais como às formações rochosas, grutas, cachoeiras entre outras, contribuindo com o desenvolvimento e o aumento da renda para a população local. A atividade turística também contribui com a aprendizagem, possibilitando ao visitante a compreensão da dinâmica da paisagem e a importância da conservação do meio natural, pois o turismo não deverá ser restringir apenas ao lazer, mas também a educação ambiental.

ABSTRACT
The present study presents the great tourist potential of the natural landscapes of the municipalities of Lençóis, Iraquara and Mucugê, resulting from the biodiversity and local geodiversity. This diversity makes possible the accomplishment of field lessons, since it is possible to verify several geological and geomorphological formations that witness different geological events, as well as the presence of the transition of the Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlântica forest biomes, evidencing the pedagogical potential in this area. The objective was to describe the great tourist and pedagogical potential of some landscapes present in the municipalities mentioned above and its relation with environmental education. The scientific method used for this research was exploratory, following the following methodological procedures: bibliographic survey of the physical, economic and social aspects; Fieldwork and discussion of results. It is notable the growth of tourism in this region, propitiated by the innumerable natural elements such o rock formations, caves, waterfalls among others, contributing to the development and increase of income for the local population. The tourism activity also contributes to learning, enabling the visitor to understand the dynamics of the landscape and the importance of conservation of the natural environment, since tourism should not be restricted only to leisure, but also environmental education.

Este estudio presenta el gran potencial turístico de los paisajes naturales de Lençóis, Iraquara y Mucugê, resultantes de la biodiversidad y geodiversidad local. Esa diversidad permite la realización de clases de campo, ya que es posible ver varias formaciones geológicas y geomorfológicas que son testigos de diferentes eventos geológicos, así como la presencia de la transición de los biomas Caatinga, Cerrado y Mata Atlántica, destacando el potencial pedagógico existente en esta zona. El objetivo de la investigación fue describir el potencial turístico y educativo de unos paisajes presentes en los municipios antes mencionados y su relación con la educación ambiental. El método científico utilizado fue el exploratorio, siguiendo los siguientes pasos metodológicos: revisión de la literatura de los aspectos físicos, económicos y sociales; trabajo de campo y discusión de los resultados. Es notable el crecimiento del turismo en esta región, que fue proporcionada por numerosos elementos naturales como las formaciones rocosas, cuevas, cascadas, entre otros, que contribuyen al desarrollo y el aumento de los ingresos para la población local. La actividad turística también contribuye al aprendizaje, lo que permite al visitante a entender la dinámica del paisaje y la importancia de la conservación del medio ambiente natural, porque el turismo no debe ser restringido sólo al ocio, sino también la educación ambiental.
