DETERMINAÇÃO DA ESTRUTURA POPULACIONAL DO CAMARÃO VERMELHO, Penaeus (Farfantepeneaus) subtilis Pérez – Farafante, 1967, NA ILHA DE SÃO LUÍS, ESTADO DO MARANHÃO

Este trabalho objetiva determinar a estrutura etária da população do camarão vermelho, Penaeus (Farfantepeneaus) subtilis Pérez – Farafante, 1967, capturado na ilha de São Luís, bem como calcular a curva de crescimento, em comprimento, e estimar os coeficientes e taxas de mortalidade.
Neste estudo foi verificada uma relativa constância na participação de indivíduos jovens na captura com destaque apenas para os meses de abril, junho, julho e setembro, com valores bem superiores à média anual (36,3%).
Para os cálculos de mortalidade foram utilizadas as fórmulas propostas por Pauly, 1980.
Os resultados deste trabalho permitem, entre outras coisas, as seguintes conclusões:
1 - o tamanho máximo teórico desta espécie, na área mencionada, corresponde a 238 mm, com mais de 3 anos de idade.
2 – o estoque de camarão vermelho é constituído em 97,41%, de indivíduos com 0 a 12 meses de idade.
3 - os coeficientes de mortalidade natural, por pesca e total, foram respectivamente : M = 0,200; F = 0,344; Z = 0,544.
ABSTRACT
This work was done to determine the age composition of the population of the brown shrimp, Penaeus ( Farfantepeneaus) subtilis Pérez – Farafante, 1967. This kind of shrimp is found in the São Luís Island. This work also indicates how to get the curve of growth in length, and estimate the coefficient and the mortality rates.
In this study, we noticed the constant appearance of young individuals in the catch of the shrimps. The results of April, June, July and September are above the annual average ( 36,3%).
For the mortality calculation were used formulae proposed by Pauly (1980).
From this work, we can underline the following conclusions:
1 – The maximum theoretical length of this species, in the mentioned area, is 238 mm, with more than 3 years old.
2 – The brown shrimp stock is constituted of 97,41 % of individuals between 0 and 12 months – old.
3 – The natural, fishing and total mortality coefficients had values of, respectively: M = 0,200; F = 0,344; Z = 0,544.
