Resumo

A total of 2.400 specimes of Menippe Nodifrons Stimpson, 1859, of both sex were studied from april 1976 to march 1978, through monthly collections done in the Iisland of São Luís, Maranhão – Brazil.

The sex ratio the oversall length/carapace length and lenght/weight ratios were analysed.

Informations are reported with respect to geographical distribuitions, ecological relations and habits of the crab.
